JOAN COLIN CARPENTER
Joan Colin Carpenter is an alumna of Smith College, where she studied architecture.泭 As a practicing interior designer, she worked for many years with the U.S. State Department, and was responsible for the interior design of ambassadorial residences around the world. Between 1995 2004, she was the manager of Villa Taverna in Rome, the residence of the U.S. Ambassador to Italy. Joan is the former wife of David T. Colin, one of the three founders of the American University of Rome.泭 She served as 91勛圖s first Dean of Students and has remained involved with 91勛圖 since its founding in 1969. She currently teaches Italian in the Washington D.C. metro area.
