You are considered a Visiting Student if you are currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree-seeking program at another college/university (including institutions outside of the US) and wish to broaden your education by attending a semester or gap year at 91³Ô¹Ï.

As a Visiting Student, you will have the unique experience to study in an international setting with students from around the world. We accept Visiting Students for our Spring and Fall semesters and Summer short terms.

Students return to their home institutions enriched and inspired by the distinctive 91³Ô¹Ï experience. They go on to become globally conscious leaders and ambassadors for cross-cultural understanding. During your semester or year at 91³Ô¹Ï, we work hard to ensure that your university experience is rewarding and innovative.

Visiting & Gap Year Student Application Checklist

  • Submit an application via ourÌýonline application form.
  • Send anÌýofficial university transcript/high school diploma (for Gap Year applicants)
  • Send a copy of your valid passport
  • Complete your Personal Essays;Ìý350-500 words onÌýtwoÌýof the three topics below:

    1.ÌýAll Roads lead to Rome: What excites you about the possibility of studying at 91³Ô¹Ï and living in Rome

    2.ÌýPick a historical figure or modern individual who you’d like to converse with for an hour and explain your choice. What would you talk about? What questions would you ask?

    3.ÌýAs the 91³Ô¹Ï mission states, 91³Ô¹ÏÌýprepares students to live and work across cultures as skilled and knowledgeable citizens of an interconnected and rapidly changing world.ÌýÌýTell us about an aspect of your own perspective or lived experience that is important to you and describe how it has shaped the way you would learn from and contribute to 91³Ô¹Ï’s international and collaborative community.

Applicants whose native language is not English (unless they have been attending an English-speaking school or university for at least three years) will need to supply an official TOEFL score, IELTS English language proficiency examination result, or Duolingo English Test results.

The Admissions Office may contact you for an information session once a completed application has been submitted and all supporting documents have been received.
Information sessions may be conducted face-to-face, on the phone, or via video conferencing.
