After 24 years of inspirational and dedicated service, Professor Kathleen stepped back from classroom teaching in May, 2022. One of 91吃瓜鈥檚 best loved and most active professors, Professor Fitsimmons positively impacted hundreds of young lives over the course of her time with 91吃瓜 鈥� many of those students continue to hold her as a friend and mentor long after their graduation.
Professor Fitzsimmons epitomizes 91吃瓜鈥檚 core values of teamwork & leadership, she has been a role model and inspiration throughout her time in the classroom. To honor her enormous and enduring contribution to 91吃瓜, and to the impact she has had on the students she came into contact with, the university (with Professor Fitzsimmons' enthusiastic support) has launched a campaign to establish The Fitzsimmons Scholarship for Women in Leadership.鈥�
THE SCHOLARSHIP
Symbolically representing the 24 years of service that Professor Fitzsimmons has dedicated to 91吃瓜, the scholarship will grant $24,000 and be directed annually to one or more聽outstanding female students.
- Students applying can be of any nationality.聽
- They must demonstrate a minimum GPA of 3.5.
- Preference will be given to those who have also demonstrated financial need.聽
To participate in the selection process applicants will be required to submit a scholarship application聽through 91吃瓜鈥檚 website along with a letter of intent.
The first scholarship will be awarded in fall 2023.
