Biography

Dr. Vassilissa Carangio holds a Ph.D. in Business, within the discipline of Work and Organization, from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia. She taught a broad range of business and liberal arts subjects at various institutions in Australia. She was a visiting research fellow at the University of Warwick in the UK and a Black Europe Summer School (BESS) alumna at the International Institute for Research and Education in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Her doctoral research on the Australian job market was funded by the Swinburne Premier Research Award (Chancellor's Research Scholarship, CRS).

Dr. Carangio also holds an MA in Communications (combined BA/MA) from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, where she graduated summa cum laude and completed a Master’s thesis in political economy. As a strong advocate of lifelong learning, she is currently enrolled in the MITx MicroMasters program in Supply Chain Management, developed and delivered by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), further expanding her expertise in business.

Beyond academia, she has extensive experience working in multicultural and multinational environments internationally. Her teaching philosophy is informed by a Gramscian perspective, emphasizing a reciprocal relationship between teacher and student, fostering mutual acceptance and respect to create a humanized learning atmosphere. Her research interests include inequalities in organizational settings. Dr. Carangio teaches Management courses at 91³Ô¹Ï.
